What is TypeFlow?
TypeFlow is an interactive web application designed to help you improve your typing speed and accuracy through various engaging practice modes. It provides real-time feedback and detailed scorecards to track your progress.
Typing Modes Explained:
QuickFlow:
A straightforward mode for free typing. Type anything you wish, and TypeFlow will measure your typing speed (WPM) and the time taken. This mode is perfect for general practice without strict text adherence.
GuidedFlow:
This mode allows you to practice with your own custom text. It provides real-time highlighting to show correct (green) and incorrect (red) characters. It also features an optional "Precision Mode" where you must type the correct character to advance, ensuring high accuracy practice.
StealthFlow:
A unique and fun mode where you type "secret messages." In its default "Fake Typing" mode, characters are revealed one by one as you press any key, simulating typing without revealing the actual text. It also has a "FreeType Mode" where you can type normally without the character reveal effect. You can cycle through multiple secret texts and choose whether the secret text is visible or hidden during typing.
Understanding Your Scorecard:
After completing a QuickFlow or GuidedFlow session, you'll see a scorecard with the following metrics:
WPM (Words Per Minute): Your typing speed, calculated based on correctly typed characters (for GuidedFlow) or total characters typed (for QuickFlow).
Accuracy: (For GuidedFlow only) The percentage of correctly typed characters out of all characters you attempted to type.
Time: The total duration of your typing session.
Total Characters: The total number of characters in the target text (GuidedFlow) or characters you typed (QuickFlow).
Correct Characters: The number of characters you typed correctly (GuidedFlow) or total characters typed (QuickFlow).
Errors: (For GuidedFlow only) The number of characters you typed incorrectly.
StealthFlow Shortcuts:
In StealthFlow mode, use these keyboard shortcuts for quick navigation and mode toggling:
Alt + N: Switch to the Next secret text.
Alt + P: Switch to the Previous secret text.
Alt + F: Toggle FreeType Mode ON/OFF. When ON, you type normally; when OFF, characters are revealed one by one.
